Arrival & Dismissal

For the safety of our students, staff, and car riders, our school has specific procedures during arrival and dismissal. 

It takes all of us to keep everyone safe during these busy times. Please note that the first period starts at 7:28 AM. Any arrivals after this time would be considered a “tardy” to school. 

AM Drop-off:

6:50–7:15 AM

PM Pickup:

2:15–2:30 PM

Please abide by school zone speed limits and yield to all pedestrians in crosswalks, so they can safely enter our building. NO Early dismissals are granted after 2:00 PM to ensure that our daily school dismissal is safe and unimpacted. All Early Dismissals must occur prior to 2:00 PM and require a parent note to be submitted the morning of the early dismissal.

Traffic Supervision & Support: 

• NAI Security will be outside in the afternoon directing traffic.
• NAI Staff and NA School Police are positioned throughout the exterior (and interior) of NAI during arrival and dismissal.
• AFJROTC cadets will be outside in the morning.

 

NASD buildings are monitored by cameras on both the interior and exterior to review events should they occur.   

Drivers are to enter the McKnight Elementary School entrance and proceed to one of the three designated drop off lanes. They are to loop around and exit near McKnight or take the first lane and exit directly to Cumberland Road. Parents are reminded not to drop off or pick up their students on Cumberland Road. Parents should not drop off their student in front of the main entrance in the morning. 

Reminder: 9th & 10th grade students are not permitted to drive to school. This includes driving to Beattie and driving/ parking off-site and walking to NAI.
