9th Grade Checklist

• Attend the NAI Activities Fair in September and walk your schedule in August.
• Begin to think about post-secondary plans. Discuss ideas with parents/guardians. Military? Career? College? Trades?
• Meet with your School Counselor to discuss your post-secondary plans and goals.
• JOIN extra-curricular activities.
• Check PowerSchool and your NA email daily. Teachers and counselors will communicate with you frequently via email.
• Meet with your School Counselor after the semester to review grades and second semester schedule.
• Review the Naviance Program with your School Counselor and parents.
• Participate in the North Pittsburgh College Fair at La Roche College.
• Attend NAI Elective Fair in January/February.
• Plan your courses for 10th Grade. Discuss options with your parents.
• Research careers, majors, trade schools and colleges on Naviance.
• Review trade school and college websites for programs. Look at Naviance for acceptance criteria.
• Consider AW Beattie for 10th grade. Attend the visitation day.
• Look into summer opportunities: volunteer, programs, jobs.
• Register, prepare for, and take any AP tests relevant to your schedule.
• Complete assigned tasks in Naviance for Post-Secondary planning.
• Find a summer job, volunteer position, or summer program!
• Begin to explore SAT/ACT prep opportunities.
